This study examines the integration of generative AI
(GenAI) tools in STEM education, focusing on instructor perceptions and pedagogical implications.
The cross-sectional survey at the Technion gathered insights from instructors and teaching assistants regarding (N=242) their usage of GenAI tools in teaching and their concerns about its impact on student learning and 21st-century skill development.
Findings reveal that most instructors do not use GenAI tools regularly. Those who do strongly prefer text-based applications such as ChatGPT, Google Gemini, and Microsoft Copilot.
